June 4, 2015

Students in Miss Jackson’s and Mrs. Cooper's math groups should be continuing to review their multiplication facts at home. They can be practicing changing their facts into division equations as well. Practice in both of these areas needs to be continued as we venture into fractions, geometry and other areas in math as they are an incremental part of their learning. Students can practice their facts using multiplication war that was demonstrated at the student learning conferences in March, putting multiplication facts to popular songs and by using Mathletics at home.

All library books need to be returned to the Learning Commons by tomorrow.  We are still expecting students to continue reading at home every night for at least 15 minutes.

We are getting close to being done our Inquiry projects.  We have only a few more days booked with the computers for students to complete their work.  Some students will need to take home their work for the weekend in order to be down by next week.  We will begin sharing our projects with our classes starting next Thursday.  Our projects will also be set up to share during the Celebration of Learning.

For our Celebration of Learning on June 18th, we are asking students to wear either black, yellow or white if they have.

To the students who are involved with Miss Jackson's Bee Mash-up Song:

Please bring in to school before Monday, June 8th, a yellow, orange or black shirt. Please have the shirt in a bag with the student's name clearly marked on the bag. Shirts will be returned home by the end of next week.

SWIMMING
Next week we have swimming lessons.  Our lessons start at 9 am so we are asking students to meet at the FRONT of the school by 8:10am.  The bus will leave the school at 8:20am.  Please remind your child to bring their swimsuit, towel, extra underwear and socks.  Those students with long hair should wear it up.  For those students that take the bus in the morning to school, they will arrive on time to get off their bus and then load on the bus for swimming.
