This morning we went to assembly put on by some of the grade 1/2 classes. They had messages for us about being superheroes in our learning and keeping promises that we make to others. The Ecoteam also talked to us about our paper towel consumption at Cranston School. We use 6,000 sheets of paper towel a week! In an effort to cut down in our usage to help the environment and save trees we are going to try to dry our hands with one paper towel only! To do this we must shake our hands dry 12 times and then use one paper towel. ♫ Twelve shakes and one paper towel ♫

We have also started procedural writing in our journals. In our first lesson, Mrs. Cooper and Miss Jackson asked us to write up a list of instructions for an Alien that came to our house to visit so that they could learn to brush their teeth. Students had 10 minutes to do this and then Mrs. Cooper and Mrs. Jackson demonstrated what their instructions look like in front of the class. Ask us what happened and discuss why our instructions worked or didn't work!

We ended the day reading more of Out of My Mind. Something shocking has happened in the story that has touched us all. We are almost done of the book and we are eager to find out how this story will end. Ask me what I think will happen and why!
