We had a wonderful experience with a guest artist in our classrooms today. Scott from the Leighton Art Centre was with each class for half the day to explore various art techniques. We learned how to properly draw a portrait looking at contour and proportion. After using a pencil to outline a portrait, we used chalk pastel to shade it in. They look fantastic. We then made a banner use sand paper and wax crayons. It was a really fun art day!
The other half of the day, we did Daily 5, word work, gym and music. Wow a busy Monday!
The students will continue with their inquiry questions and we will have the computers to continue our search for articles related to our topics. If your child has found articles on a reliable website at home, please print it off and send it in this week.
